TROM'S MANGA HISTORY

*Note this history is based on a visual summary of all 37 manga. I can not read Japanese, and have not read anything past what has been translated on Raya's VoH Under the Kotatsu.

Like all character in violinist of Hameln, Trom's history is not exactly pleasant. Throughout the manga, he struggles to grow and learn. He's faced with horors that no young child is normally forced to endure, yet somehow manages to keep his positive outlook on life. Tracing his journy over all 37 manga, you can practically watch him grow wiser throughout his journey.

Trom didn't just lose his entire family, he lost his entire country when the Mazoku invaded and destroyed Del Segno. This child had to watch the floor grow big pointed teeth and literally eat his father at the same time his mother was being impaled by at least four lances! Talk about Trauma! Not only that, but all his friends in his father's army got slaughtered as well. This might not be so bad if Trom and his parents weren't close. But they were. Trom loved them very much. But rather than laying about, our young hero pulled himself together and went to make his why to the city his family had sworn to protect: Sftzendo.

It is on this journey that Trom meets up with the rest o' the VOH gang. And what an entrance the kid makes! Talk about rich brat *L* Anyway, Trom soon proves, by fighting a giant demon on a mountain (was it mouthpiece?) that he can be a brave protect of Flute. He then joins the gang and they travel to Sftzendo. It is Trom who recognizes the Royal cross birthmark on Flute's back when they bathed in a hot springs together.

Once there, Trom gets involved in the fight against the invading Mazoku lead be Hell King Drum. At first, Trom is too scared to fight; in fact, when he volunteers, Clari denounces him as a useless coward. The little prince, however, proves his worth when Guitar attacks Flute and Horn. Mother and Daughter were about to get cleaved by Guitar (The Spartan Dog Warrior as well as the #4 Hell King) when Trom fearlessly comes to the rescue. It doesn't work though. Due to being out classed and some uhhh faulty planning (Trom tried to lure Guitar into a trap with doggie munchies) Trom quickly loses the battle and Hamel saves the day. Trom's brave efforts do not go unrewarded though. Once Horn heals his wounds, the little warrior joins Clari, Raiel and Hamel in an all out battle against Drum for the survival of Sfrtzendo. Needless to say, they win, with a little unexpected assistance form the other Prince of the series, Lute.

After the first major battle, Trom leaves the company of his friends and goes off by himself. For a dismal (well not really) six volumes the spastic little boy is absent. However, I returns in issue 14 in time to save Flute once again. He'd found her unconscious on the road and brought her to his cabin. Now rejoined with the others, Trom gets to have several more exciting adventures, such as almost being eaten by Hamel who goes Mazoku on everyone in issue 15 ^^;;

In issue 11, Sizer joined the VOH group, and unfortunately, Trom remembered her from the attack on his city, when she, as the Red Witch of Hameln, had killed dozens of troops once with her scythe. Trom has no love for this new member of the traveling group no matter how many people say she's reformed. In a scene that causes great anguish for Sizer, Trom accuses her of being a Mazoku Murdered and, after failed attempts to reason with him, he launches into an attack. He uses all his skill against Sizer, apparently with intent to kill. His hatred/pain is that great. Sizer, however catches his blade and admits that he's right, she is a witch, and the two stop fighting. The break does not cool Trom off, though. After seeing the entire town of Score killed by Vocal, Trom's hatred of Mazoku, and therefore Sizer is rekindled. And so is Sitar's hatred of herself. She ends up asking Trom to stab her and Trom happily obliges, and would have killed her had Raiel not blocked the blow with his own body! Trom, horrified by the fact that he's stab Raiel, leaves off his attack, and Sizer, filled with self-doubt, flies off. Yes, Raiel lives. Flute's a healer.

Trom faces what I consider to be his greatest challenge next, although it does resolve his problems with Sizer. Vocal (an especially evil Mazoku) steals Flute, and Sizer and Trom are the first to rush to the princess's rescue. Vocal takes Flute to Del Segno, where he and Orgel wait. Orgel, with his ability to reanimate corpses, pits Prince Trom against the decayed bodies of his parents. That horror, which almost overwhelms him until Sizer, snaps him out of is stupor. Fearlessly, he and Sizer defeat the zombies, and Trom reconciles the loss of his parents. In a touching scene he says good bye to the spirits of his parents and friends. Following this is a little short story about Trom's parents being saved by Prince Lute. I'll have to wait for a translation of this though.

After this, Sizar's soul is stolen by Vocal, and the young prince joins in the quest to return his newly found friend to her former self. As Trom does not feature prominently in this story line, I aint's going into it ^^;; You Raiel and Sizer fans should check it out though, it's volume 23-29!
